A New Focus on Microinsurance
Our recent product pivot has led us to concentrate on microinsurance, specifically tailored for smallholder farmers. After three months of rigorous discussions, we are thrilled to announce our partnership with Leadway Assurance, our first insurance collaborator. Together, we aim to design affordable, accessible, and weather-responsive insurance products that empower farmers across underserved areas.
A Two-Phase Partnership with MTN
In February, we embarked on the first phase of our two-phase partnership with MTN. As we prepare to launch our Agri-Insurance product to the public in April, we’re working closely with mobile operators to expand our reach. Financial inclusion plays a pivotal role in climate financing, and our collaboration with MTN involves targeted data collection, leveraging the MOMO PSB platform, and utilizing specific service infrastructures.
The second phase will focus on SMS short code services and USSD framework integration. This will allow us to reach even more farmers, providing them with the tools they need to protect their livelihoods and contribute to the growth of their communities.
